Artist Statement:

As a child in the Ukraine I spent hours and hours drawing and painting on large rolls of paper spread across the floor. At age fourteen I entered Art School focusing primarily on sculpture. Later I enrolled at Western Ukraine University completing a degree in engineering.

Upon immigrating to the United States I was able to refocus my life and rekindle my love for painting. I am passionate about composition, light, and color. The complexities of reflection, transparency, color harmonies and dramatic contrasts in value appeal to me. I look for subject matter that affords me the opportunity to create thought provoking compositions within the realm of realism.
