Love Story

I have been a world traveler and in my heart of hearts I am captivated by the beauty of the people I encounter and their native customs and manner of dress. From the sunlit villages of southern France to the rocky terrain in the mountains of Nepal the diversity and compelling stories that I see in the faces of my ”brothers and sisters” drive me to use my skills and talents to tell their story upon my canvases. Capturing simple uncomplicated moments in daily life all over the world and interpreting those moments with my brush and paints is my life-long ambition. One cannot ignore the land upon which they live, the houses they live in and the work they do … this is all part of the human experience and every detail reveals strength and nobility.

The desire and capacity to learn is a theme I am continually inspired by. I consider this to be one of the most noble attributes of mankind and is the single greatest factor that has raised us from a murky preexistence and propels us into a bright future. The theme of “study” (which represents the desire and capacity to learn) is prevalent in many of my paintings.

The painting “Love Story” was done from a photo taken during my trip to the south of France. The beautiful red - haired lady was sitting outside of her house enjoying the soft afternoon sun. She was reading a book … probably a love story … and her lovely cat was listening to her with adoration. Is this the true story of Love?
