Irina’s abstract-expressionist painting “Creation” is a different and unusual artwork for her. She is ‘gifted’ and well known for her ability to paint in the realist-impressionist style. A majority of her paintings are in the classical realism style, often using impressionist techniques.

     In addition, Irina’s artwork is primarily landscape, figurative, and portraiture works. These beautiful works of art are the result of viewing the external world and recreating those external views in oil or mixed media.

     “Creation” is a departure for this artist. It is the result of the artist viewing the internal world of feeling and intellectuality. As a collector of Irina’s art, I find this abstract-expressionist artwork challenging. I look at the painting, and think about its nonrepresentational message, to learn what this artist is saying to me. Personally, I welcome this challenge from Irina. Her ability to paint a subject from the internal world is extraordinary.

        It takes rare and real courage for an artist to express what they think and feel in their art. I was surprised and delighted with “Creation,” and want to encourage Irina to continue to explore this abstract-expressionist style.
